Thumbs up BRAKE UPGRADE: '06 Non-Brembo to Brembos

Bought a used Brembo kit from Mike (forum name = XKR) a few weeks ago and just recently had them installed. Mike's G35 was at Forged Performance for some performance upgrades and he was upgrading to a BBK. Anyway, FP removed the Brembos from Mike's car and shipped them directly to me. During shipment, the calipers were damaged (chipped paint). Mike graciously offered to have the calipers repaired.

Sharif referred me to Mike Golding at Powdercoaters.com but I wanted to retain the Brembo gold color on the calipers. Mike could not match the colors so I sent the calipers instead to a local paint shop that I had dealt with in the past -- Jack's Paint Place in San Antonio. I also had to get a new set of Brembo decals to replace the original ones. I ordered them online from xenonmods.com but seller sent the wrong color (white instead of the red I ordered). I ended up ordering locally the Brembo decals.

Here are a few pictures of what the calipers looked like when I received them. Yes, they were beat up. As I stated earlier, the seller (Mike) worked with me, along with Sharif & Sandy, to make sure the calipers were repaired.

Default Newly Painted Calipers

Here are several pictures of the same calipers after they were professionally painted. They turned out beautiful! The Brembo decals were also darker red so they turned out nicely also. The decals were installed and clear coated over for the final finish. I'll try to get some pictures later of the calipers on the car.

Damn. They look perfect. Guessing all seals and moving parts were
good to go. I am a perfectionist too, and from the look of things
you're in the club. nice results.

You're going to like my '06 setup. I checked the Project Mu pads before I boxed them up and they still look like new. In addition, you're also getting the stock pads that were just as new. With the stainless steel brake lines, larger calipers & larger rotors, you will feel a big difference from your current setup.

I'm loving your re-paint job on the calipers. Mine are a bit scratched too, could you tell me how much it cost you to get them painted as well as the brembo gold color & red color?
