Default Ceramic Brakes

Hey guys,

Need to change my brake pads but thought I run this over before I make my decision. My 2005 Z non brembo pads are wearing off at 30K. Dealership says pads and rotors for $460. I really don't think I need new rotors so just want to change the pad. Don't like the dust so am looking at ceramic brakes. I only do street driving. I've searched on forum but info. limited to ceramic. Posts are more for HPS, Endless, Stoptech, Brembos etc.

Ceramic just as good as metallic brakes?

Do I really need to get new rotors or can I resurface?

What kind of ceramic pads are good and where can I get them?

Thanks fellas

Measure the rotor thickness and check for deep scratches. If you don't want to do all of this just go to a place that resurfaces rotors and ask them if they need to be turned. I have the hawk ceramic performance pad and they are really good for street use and have barely any brake dust if none at all. I got my performance pads from autoanything.com, you can check hawks website too.

i had your same problem before. the lowest dust brake i have used are akebono ceramic pads. you can find it on the tirerack.com for cheap. as far as the rotors. r1 concepts are a pretty good deal. since your only using them for street.
