Default Hawk HPS brake pads? If you have them

do they squeak?

I CANNOT take the brake dust from the stock pads, everyday I have to wash the wheels. Everyday!!!!!!!!!!
I tried Rain X on the wheels, I waxed them, nothing works....

Yes the dust comes off easier, but I still have to apply pressure, not just the hose.

I don't care how easy it comes off, I DON'T WANT IT TO GET ON....EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So if you have these pads or any pads that minimize brake dust and DO NOT SQUEAL please, please let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

LOL, just put the Hawks on my car last week. Huge reduction in dust, although I don't know how long it lasts cause I have washed my car inbetween. I washed my car like Tuesday, and I still don't have any dust to speak of. I will use low dust pads from now on, the stock ones are horrible. The Hawks will definitely keep you from cleaning them everyday, I had the same problem before I got the Hawks, except my wheels were black in like 2-3 days.

well i thot hawk doesnt have an HPS for non-brembo brakes for the rears.

anyways, i put the HPS on front/rear on my track and theres significantly less brake dust (almost none), and no squeeling. altho lately i have been getting a little squeel on slow stops every once in awhile; maybe didnt apply enough anti-squeel when i installed them.....doesnt bother me at all. so, a (+) from me for the HPS

I believe youre right B18, Hawk makes front and rears for the track model only and fronts only for non-track models.

I got my front Hawks from tirerack.com, and I believe they sell them for the track version too.

I love mine.. no squeak, and a lot less dust.. I would say 75% less than stock!

Got mine from Tirerack.com , I believe they are $61 / set (non brembo)

I've had mine for months, no problems. I do get some squeel on some slow stops. Plan to add squeel stop.

Brake dust reduction is more like 95+%.

I got the hawks too but have squeel on slow stops. Will try that squeel stop spray but feels weird spraying on the rotors.

Have them, less dust for sure, squeal at slow stops. Worth it, recommended.

My squeals too, and it's driving me nuts! Where can I buy the squeal spray? What's it called and how do you apply it. Thanks

OK. let me correct onething.
Hawk HPS comes with Stock (non-brembo) Front and REAR because I have one in my Z.

And about the dust, its about 1/5 of stock front pad. But you don't have to cealn up every week. I usally clean up 1 time in 4-6 weeks.

Noise, I'm running 2nd set of Hawk HPS front pads. 1st set installed by Nissan and noise was killing me. and 2nd set, I installed it with my buddy. No noise so far (about 4-5k miles). I belive the noise is not from Pads (not talking about bremob. I'm only talking about HPS). Its from the installation. As long as you spend time to install it correct, it will not happen. (can't say 100 % guarantee but thats what happened to me at least)

hope this helps.

if you're going to buy Hawk pads, there's only one place I'd get them from - RACESHOPPER.COM - I think I paid something like $110 shipped for mine (for all four corners)... good stopping power, little to no dust, but they do squeel a bit after you get about 1k miles on them (I only have 1.5k mi on mine and they're already squeeling)... I can live with that, though, for the low dust factor alone (my Winnings are a b1tch to clean as it is!)

HPS is available for the rear non-track too. I have had them for close to 6 months. TireRack carries them.
