Default ***quick_alignment_question***

So I just lowerd my Z a little more and got an alignment, the tech. told me that he couldn't get the front camber in spec(I don't have a kit up front).......my question too you guys is should I invest in a front camber kit or am I fine (don't want my tires to wear out)......how really bad is it.

Left front camber. (should be between 0.2 & -1.3)
-1.7

Right Front camber. (should be between 0.2 & -1.3)
-1.6

Left caster. (should be between 7.4 & 8.9)
8.4

Right caster. (should be between 7.4 & 8.9)
9.1

I'd say get the SPC kit. I just lowered mine and that's what I'm getting. Front and rear is $525 at thmotorsports. There is an install over on driver by Gilley for those.

your alignment is fine....for handling purposes that camber is fine....be more concerned w/ the Toe angles he has you set at....since I don't know where he put you I can't comment. (Toe eats tires about 100x faster than camber.)

I'd be thrilled if I could dial in that camber on my car w/o lowering it....and w/o adding aftermarket A arms.

Caster spread is fine, should keep you going straight w/ crowned roads.

^^^ +1! That camber is fine!

I wish I was that close, I need adjustable A-arms in the worst way before I burn through another set of fronts.

The bad part about out of spec negative camber (what the OP is fine, I run -2) is that the rear wheels are supposed to have more neg camber than the front. So even if you have adjustable camber in the back, you are limited by what the front is set at (and its not adjustable). SPL street spec camber arms for the front are the way to go... I don't know that I'd trust the sliding bolt design of the SPC.

I don't know what my camber is but I know it was bad before I lowered it. I'm getting an alignment this weekend. As far as the SPC I know Gilley has them and he seems to have had no problems that I've read about. From 6mt I trust gilley so I'm going to follow in his footsteps and get that. Do you have the SPL? How is it?

For those that don't trust the SPL design....its a valid design. Used in quite a few OE applications.

Shall I name a few that use similar if not the same design?

ok...here's a very short list that come to mind first:

Mazda Miata (at least 1st and 2nd gens.)
Chevy 1/2 ton p/u's....(not certain on most recent design, but I believe its gone unchanged)

It's funny since I'm learning alignments in school right now. Toe will kill your tires fast. every 1/8" out of spec, it's like rubbing your tire sideways about 150 feet for every mile you travel. Ouch, camber isn't too bad and our cars seem to like it a little negative. As far as caster, ya want to try to keep them the same.
