Default suspension upgrade advice

Car history:

I have an 04 track that came with lowering springs that are absolutely rock hard. Not sure what the exact drop is but it is noticeable. Tends to scrape on big speed bumps. Maybe 1-1.5 inches. I've been running 245/19/35 in the front and 275/19/30's in the back. Having way too much camber caused them to wear out past the steel belts in no time (less than 10k).

What I am needing:

I would like to get my car's ride back to somewhere near stock. Can anyone recommend springs that are livable but just a little stiffer than stock? I'd like close to stock ride height but it seems most of the aftermarket springs have quite a drop and require a camber adjustment kit. I'd like to avoid this if possible.

Thanks!

If you want stock ride height, better ride and no camber issues, why not just go back to a stock setup? I know you mentioned that you wanted a little stiffer than stock and I think that all the models had the same suspension setup except the NISMO. If you have driven a Z with the stock suspension and found it to be too soft, then maybe it is possible to put NISMO springs and shocks on it? If you haven't driven a stock Z, then I'd suggest doing so. You may find that the stock suspension is very good.

I would imagine that someone may have a stock suspension that you might be able to buy pretty cheap.

I've been known to be wrong however.

I tried taking it in to have the alignment corrected after I bought it. I was skeptical anything could be done. I was right in thinking it was way outside of the adjustment range. Caster and camber were off on the front which makes me wonder if that could affect steering feel too.

I may just go for a test ride in a stock Z to see if I'd like it. I still want to keep the super sharp turn-in response that it has right now but that can be done though other means than a suspension that does not move.

Nothing that OEM springs will not cure.

I run RS-R Ti2000 springs. Just a little stiffer than stock (2004.5 models and up) and only a small drop. (.6 inch / 15mm.)

Thanks, and she just got a lot hotter....

Last weekend, after three years of supporting my autocross habit, she put on a "loaner" helmet, got behind the wheel of her grocery grabber, and crushed the three other guys in H-Stock Novice! (The guy in second was 2.423 seconds back) (All of them have been at this for a few months and one of them started back at the beginning of the year.)

I sooooooo love that woman.

The Hotchkis TVS kit would probably fit the bill. The spring rates are close to stock, only .5/.75 drop and the swaybars control roll very well. Best of both worlds.

In my opinion the SPC rear camber/toe kit is not an option with ANY drop spring. I'm picky about my alignment. Being "within spec" isn't good enough. I want MY specs. $159 is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

Get Hotchkis springs and sway bars (aka TVS kit). Also get better shocks such as Tokico DSP-9 shocks. I happen to be selling a set. I've ran that setup as my daily driver. PM with any questions.

For the cost of NISMO suspension you can get so much way better.
Join the Club Blistein PSS9.. Medium setting up front and lowest setting in the rear running 275 in rear and 245 in front will have a good look and it will be better overall.

Depending on your budget I know times are tough for everyone right now. Buy coilover's you will not be disappointed IMO. Coilover's go on here from 500 to 1500. I just purchased some tein basic coilover's from my local shop cost me 869.00 after tax. Can't wait till they come in next week. Wish is was Spring all year around...
