Turning my own rotors....
Honestly, if provided with the right machinery i'm sure it is possible. As long as you have enough rotor to take off to not exceed the minimum thickness, you should be okay. But that also depends on just how messed up your rotors are... if there's deep grooving and warping that can't be removed without turning the rotor too much then you might be better off buying new ones... Thin rotors don't dissipate the heat well and just warp quickly, not to mention degraded performance and safety risks.
the minimum thickness will either be on the non-contact area of the rotor (hub area) or the outside of the rotor (the thin area)

come on you horny bastards, show Miss Beka some respect. this is an educational/technical thread

if you meant that i consider this a mod to my car -- no i don't. it's just maintenance that i happened to do myself for the first time.
but upgrading to slotted rotors would technically be a modification from the oem rotors - correct me if i am assuming your post wrong.

hahaah thanks rick! don't make me bust out the hotdogs and buns.
------------
Today I finished up my brakes; painted the rotor's (yes i painted them), cleaned up the calipers and brake area (i'm pretty sure they haven't seen a rag/cleaner in the past 5 years) and installed my new project mu pads.
end result:

now it's time to go bed them.
