Default stock 04 rear brakes diy

ive found DIY for front brakes (none brembo 2004) but i cant find the rear brakes and i remeber hearing there harder than the fronts. im doing rotors and pads. Im getting ready to do them tonight.

Any help? please? Thanks guys.

The only thing that makes them "harder" is the e-brake. You may have to hammer on the rear rotors to break them loose from the hub. Rust buildup tends to make them stick on - use some WD-40 or PB Blaster to loosen them beforehand.

Another thing that makes the rear breaks slightly harder is the suspension arm that sits right in front of the lower caliper mount bolt. Needed a 3" extension cuz there's no space to fit a ratchet head. Other than that, and the aforementioned need for a rubber mallet, it's dam near the same.

What about the ebrake makes it harder? I'm in the middle of trying to get one of the rear rotors off. I took the screws out of through the little hole. Hopefully that was a good thing. I cant get the rotor off though. Ive been pounding it with a hammer and 2x4. Recommendations?


I have one of the rear rotors broken free now, but it wont come out. Hmmm....
