Default Cusco Upper Front Sway Bar Install

*sigh*

Okay so I got this last night.. Real nice.. Gave a quick pry at it with the wrench.. Seemed to be pretty tight so I put some WD-40 on it and let it set for the night.. couple hours ago went back down to it.. The socket fit nice and snug on it.. Gave afew of the bolts a REAL good pull... NOTHING.. Afraid of stirpping the nut if anything.. Looks like im chipping it if anything... 03 Z.. Anybody have any issues while taking off the OEM Front/upper strut bar?? Would be nice if there was some super secret ??? ;]

No secret, make sure you use quality tools though like the socket and driver so you dont strip the nuts, you need them.

rightsy tightsy leftsy loosey

I would avoid using an extension on the driver if you can.

What is an "upper" sway bar? As far as I know we have a front and a rear. No upper. No lower.

Now if you're talking about the strut tower brace / bar, you may have some luck by jacking up the car so the wheels hang down and relieve the compression on the bar.

you just need to jack the car up to release tention on the BAR. Use size 14 socket with a large arm that should help.

As I said before, the wheels need to hang down low...

and on that note:

Do your ears hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie them in a knot?
Can you tie them in a bow?
Can you throw them o'er your shoulder
like a continental soldier?
Do your ears hang low?

OK. you need to correct your verbage.

the 'bar' that goes over the engine cover is the STRUT TOWER BRACE.

the 'bar' that goes under the engine is the SWAY BAR. which connects the lower half of the suspension arms.

if your STRUT TOWER BRACE is on extremely tight, try extending the bar with a pipe to get more leverage..should be bolts and 1 nut to release.

as for the SWAY bar, make sure there is equal load on both tires, and the endlinks are straight, the bolt should come loose. if you're trying to remove the endlinks from the sway bar and it is difficult, the sway bar may not be exactly be free of tension. check the other side but be careful not to unsettle the car on the jackstands...

when in doubt.. Liquid Wrench is great. just let it sit for a while..
