Air suspensions??
I've recently modified my Z... installed a new body kit to it...and unfortunately it's a bit too low. I can not get it onto my driveway without scratching the bottom of it...I was planning to raise it from 1-2 inches.. because even if i come in from a slant...it can not get over the deep driveway...
my other thought was to get air suspensions... one that will let me raise and drop with a click of a button... anyone done this before or have any idea of whagt tlese i can do?
thanx in advance

there are a few suspension kits that come adjustable for that purpose, and you can buy electric motors (some come with them) to raise and lower the car on the go. i believe tein has a kit like that, but im not sure. With the electric adjustable suspension, you can also get more performance than you would with an air suspension.

The only kits I know are Air Runner or Air Ride? ( a complete setup using their own shock, and airbag instead of a spring)
Then there is the Roberuta sp? (it is smaller air compressed cap that sleeves on top of an existing coilover.
The second one is probably the "electrical" one that retains performance being that it depends on the coilovers you have installed.
seems like there is a whole bunch of "maybe i should have thought about that before doing stuff to my car" going around

Thanks for all the responses.. I will look into all the suggestions.
Yup..I fell into that whole "should have thought bout it first" ordeal when I bought the kit. I should have just bought a new car as intended...i'm very satisfied with the looks..just need to find a way to work around the low profile of it....
here's what the car looks like now... this is not my car since I haven't taken pictures..but his is exactly what it looks like... very aggressive.

not that I feel the need to care if you believe me or not... but I hate it when ppl doubt me... I will be posting the pictures later today when my front to rims and tires come in...
Just got the car back from the tire shop... still waiting for the Invader Wing to come in.. but this is my new baby...that can't get up my drive way hahahaa...

For those who are interested...after reading the link posted by Z04 I called up a few places. Airbagit.com does offer some air suspension for the 350z that will add approx. 3" to the stock height which should help clear most bumps on the road. for the remote box and kit for just the front end, comes out to be about $1000. But that's because of dealer discount I get for having a shop.

top secret has a kit that raises the front and back of your car you push a button for the end you want to raise the push it again to drop it down.
will cost alot less then airbags and you can still save performance.
get spacers all around...
and run! run for your dignity!...

Not my cup of tea but dont hate the man!. Hey if this is your show car then go ahead and buy the air suspension but if its a DD then raise it back up with after market springs or ditch the kit.
HAHAHAHAHAA as I just posted theres an add on here that sales air suspension.

I don't know why these people aree saying the Tien suspensions doesn't change ride hieght because the more expensice kits do allow hieght changes of an inch or two but from what people told me about them is that they have to get alignments every couple of months otherwise they burn thru tires.
Another option is ksport has an airsuspension system that bolts right into the car but its not exactly cheap. I think the basic kit is $3800.

Man, you guys are hard on folks.
Don't sweat it man. Project cars don't get finished overnight. The key is to do things in the right order.
I kind of like the kit just because it's different. It's not my taste but that's OK. I respect that. Spacers are a definate must. You need to do that ASAP as it takes away from the kit. The total setup can make or break the kit.
The wheels are an interesting choice. Personally I think going for a set of black wheels with the correct width and offset would transform the appearance.
Black powdercoat the chicken wire grilles. The silver just looks like you got it from Home Depot. My eyes go right to the grill and not the rest of the car.
The right hood can also carry the total appearance. A painted CF hood with exposed CF on the openings would be hot. Note the painted grilles and hood on the pic you posted. I'm not saying copy but he's got the right combo going.
vs
Personally, I'm not a fan of the rear window wiper. Delete or keep is up to you.
Unless you have a serious issue with clearance, I'd hold off on the air suspension. That's a lot of money. If it's a huge problem, then you have to do it just to be able to drive around. But get the spacers immediately after fixing the height.
Keep up the good work. Have a master plan on how you want the car to look and set the order in which you make the mods. Going out of order is like taking one step forward and two steps back. I look forward to watching your project.
