Default steering wheel hard to turn

ok, so i had to change the complete front passenger suspension on the z. everything looked the same, except for the compression arm. im not sure if my old one was bent or if it just had a different bend? but they were different. the new arm has the numbers 2wr-11-0, and the old one read 2wr-43-2

i cant figure out why the steering is still as hell. i lifted the front and took off the tires and it turned fine. slapped everything back together and its stiff.

its specially stiff when the wheels are straight, when you turn it to either side it is really stiff.

i have no idea on whats wrong. i wanna drive my z, help!!!

If your new part had a different number and had a differnet shape, and you installed it anyway knowing something wasn't right, chances are you were wrong. I would put the old part back on the car and see if that fixes your steering problem. Then hope you can return your parts after being installed and get the right ones.

it turns fine without weight on the car(front wheels in the air) i have no clue as to what the problem is. like i said, the old arm MIGHT have been bent.

once the wheels are on the ground, it is very very stiff

Stupid question, but are you starting the car up before trying to turn the wheels while the car is on the ground? lol

so im thinking it has to do with the rack and pinion? or the power steering? bah. ok so i turn the wheel to the right and for like 1/8 of a turn it will be smooth, then it gets all hard again. once driving it feels alright, but going slow or stopped ***** hard to turn except for that 1/8 turn

alright verdict is in. took the rack and pinion off, turned out it was bent according to the rebuilt guy. so i ended up buying a used one, and that seems to have solved it.

10-e-c thanks for sticking around, lol.
