VERY LOUD NOISE: Brembo Slotted Rotors & Hawk HPS Pads
My story: The OEM Brembos on my Z intermittently made a ton of noise during braking and I brought in to the dealer to complain. They said nothing was wrong/can't replicate issue, etc. Pads had 40% left, and the front rotors were also apparently too thin to machine. Was told noise was normal for Brembo OEMs on the 350zs, which I thought was BS.
So, I had enough. After googling around forums on similar user experiences, finally got my OEM Brembo fronts/rears replaced with a new set of Slotted Brembo Rotors, and Hawk HPS pads.
Now, im running into SEVERELY LOUD SQUEALING and SCREECHING especially after the pads and rotors heat up--I can replicate this everytime. Once it cools down, the noise seems to go away. Braking in reverse makes noise everytime cold or hot, wet or dry. Brakes were bedded in properly, and thinking it was the pads, I even stuck on a set of Nismo pads as well which yielded the same noise.
Does anyone have any idea on how I can get rid of this noise, or at least minimize it? Only thing I havent tried was going back to OEM pads on these new Brembo rotors.
Im at a standstill--thanks for reading, and offers on any advice, similar experiences.

Do you know if you have the shims installed with your brakes? That's the first thing I'd look into.

Thanks davidmcc for the brake FYI link. Very information read.
I was a bit surprised the Hawks didnt come equipped with shims--actually, it seemed like a really tight fit when initially installed. I even asked but was told it wouldnt have fitted anyway.
As another resort, I'll order in a brake shim kit and see how it goes.

Maybe OEM parts replacements was the only way to go?

Go buy some brake cleaner. Take off the wheels and take out the clips in the caliper and clean the clips and the pins. Most likely all that noise is coming from the dirty clips. If you took it to the dealer to get the pads and rotors installed they probably didn't take the time to clean the calipers and clips that hold the brake pads. You know they get paid on how many cars they do in a day so they won't take the extra 30 minutes to properly clean your calipers.

For what it's worth I just installed brembo's and HPS pads on my Z and have no noise issues, but I also transferred the shims to my new pads. I don't have any experience with slotted rotors though.
