Well maybe my needs were just different than other people's. I wanted something with no dust, no noise, and good bite. Reviews I read from numerous My350Z threads said that the Hawk HPS and Axxis Ultimate were both a little squeaky, had a lot of dust, and bite wasn't as good as the stock pads. I had no experience with either, but then my friend got the Hawks and they were in fact very noisy and I didn't like it. As soon as I heard the Axxis ones were also like that, it scared me away. So I called a few vendors and told them what I was looking for, and most of them pointed me in the direction of the Nismo's. After a few weeks of researching different pads, I ended up going with them and I'm very happy I did. But I'm sure the Axxis ones will stop the car just as good, its just the other factors that let me to my decision.

Why is the pad and rotor break-in procedure so important?
PROPER BREAK-IN OF ROTORS AND PADS IS CRITICAL. Not properly doing so can cause permanent damage to rotors and adversely effect overall brake performance. Pads and rotors interact with each other to provide efficient brake performance. The break-in or bed-in procedure is done to condition the pad/rotor interface. Depending on the pad used, more or less pad material is uniformly transferred onto the disc as a thin film. The resins and bonding agents in some pads need to be heat cycled to work properly as well. By not properly bedding in pads, uneven pad material deposits can occur that may cause a vibration. Improper wear characteristics may also show up on either the pads, or rotors, or both. Always follow the recommended break-in procedure for any pads, rotors or brake systems. This link is to the Technical page of our website. is there a different set of pads I can get that will cover the entire rotor to get rid of the gawd-awful rust line?
I will buy any pad I need to in order to get rid of this. With my rims being so open, this is a VERY bad eye-sore.

Do these rotors make that clickity-clack sound while driving ~20mph with the windows open and stereo off? I have the EBC dimpled/slotted rotors with EBC pads and non-brembo calipers, and mine make that noise. Its not deafening or alarming, you really have to listen for it, but its there. Is that just a characteristic of textured rotors? Or do you think I have a pad/caliper problem?
Bed in process was performed properly, and there is no decreased performance.

you paint the unswept area before you put them on, or you take them off/sandblast them then paint them.
there is no magical pad or anything like that. the stock rotors even have an unswept area, its just that they paint it for you.
stock rotors ftw!

Spend the money on rotors you can get with the zinc treatment, or just figure out that no one your going to pose for will care or notice the little bit of rust. Unless you building an super waxer trailer queen ride.
