Just installed my Stoptech 13" brakes
The install was very easy, I think pretty much anyone could do it as long as you have the right tools and a friend, or at least if you can convince someone to help bleed the brakes.
I stepped up to these from the non-brembo's after visiting the Tail of the Dragon because my brakes would take a crap after about 5 miles on that beast. Plus I was planning on doing some HPDE’s this year in addition to more Auto-xing.
The pads (Axis Ultimate) took a while to get fully set to the rotors but once they did the feel is very similar to stock, not quite as much initial bite but once the pads are warmed up they feel great. I tested them out on the closest thing we have to offer as a 'fun' road and where the old brake would have a squishy pedal at the end these were rock solid.
The most impressive thing I found was the actual brake balance. I purposely trail braked a few of the slower corners just to see how it was and I never lost any confidence in them. The car remained on track and going forward. Not the case with my BBK on my SC300.
Overall, I’m impressed and I’m sure I’ll love them more on the track when I get there.
