Default front brakes making popping sound

I have an 03 Touring Z and I noticed my car making some weird noises in the past couple weeks. First it was a jingling sound coming from underneath the car when I hit any kind of bump in the road. I put the car up on a lift and checked the whole underside including the exhaust and heat shields but found nothing loose. Then I started noticing a popping sound mostly occurring when navigating around tight areas (parking lots, tight turns). With the help of a few of my friends, I was able to narrow the popping sound down to my front brakes. The pads aren't that bad, but I'm gonna change them this weekend anyway. Could there be something wrong with the caliper or should the pads do the trick? Any chance the jingling might be coming from the brakes too?

are you sure it has nothing to do with the suspension? I've never heard of brakes "popping" before.

pretty sure...I tried it on a driveway with a slight incline...i would SLOWLY roll a few inches and hit the brakes and it would make the noise. My friend had his ear right next to the wheel and said it sounded like it was coming from the brakes. We jacked the front end up so the tires were off the ground, spun the wheel, hit the brakes and it still made the sound.

the popping sound could be the caliper being stuck.. Since we have floating systems the guide bolts might be missing grease. Take off your caliper and grease up the bolts, or your piston might be stuck and it pops out after enough pressure.

I changed my front pads the other day and I greased the caliper bushings. This seemed to make the noise go away a little, but its still there. I looked up new bushings on the internet, but all the pics I saw only showed the little black boot, not the small metal rod that slides into the caliper. Is that rod a part of the bushing or is it called something else? I already tried my local Advanced Auto but they said they can't get the part. Can anyone guide me in the right direction??
