Default Car wants to turn on its own

I'm turning to the my350z suspension/steering gurus for help because I have no clue what's going on and this has baffled at least 2 shops.

History:

2 years ago our coupe was t-boned in a low speed (maybe 10mph) crash along the front fender/wheel/door. The wheel was pushed inward at the top. Definite suspension problems... It would keep turning after making turns.

We got it fixed up by a top notch body shop (literally think 911, 911, GT3, 911, our car, 911, GT2, GT3 cup car, Ruf CTR yellowbird, Viper, 911) and the car has been fine for 2 years.

2 years later...
Coming out of a mall parking lot, I turned the steering wheel back, and the car keeps turning. I almost went into another lane but got it under control.

Took it to two dealers. Both agree it's a broken knuckle and bent control arm. One dealer said a new rack and pinion was needed too (and the prices were better). So we replaced all of these.

Problem:

Ever since getting it back from the dealer...

Making turns at first its very VERY hard to do but then, halfway through, it becomes very VERY easy to do. In fact it becomes SO easy to turn, that if you release the steering wheel mid-turn -- it doesn't return to its normal position -- it turns MORE in the direction of the turn by itself (assuming you're going forward). Occasionally coming in and out of parking spots it makings a metal creaking/groaning noise.

...Any thoughts or ideas? I've never even heard of this problem. Stock '04 350z.

2 shops have looked at it (a very good normal shop and a really well known aftermarket shop) and nobody can seem to find what the cause is. Any help appreciated!

what was the change in 06+ for the variable ratio steering? what component changed?

could also be an alignment issue.

I wonder did they change your lower ball joints and upper A-arm? Also, maybe your caster is out of whack...

Yeah I'd be interested to find out... I vaguely remember the shop saying that they might or might not use all OEM parts when they rebuilt it (because other car's insurance co. was paying for everything).

...but either way it's probably going to get a trip back to the 911 911 911 Ruf yellowbird 911 my car 911 shop soon since they were the only one's to get it working 100% perfectly (up until now). Except this time I'll be paying out of pocket Just waiting to get my Subie running again, before the Z goes in.

Thanks for the help so far and if anyone else has anything I should raise before taking it in lemme kno
