hm..............thats not good at all.......Maybe another shady vendor???? I used to be on twinturbo.net, and Z1 Motorsport had a huge presence amongst the Z32 community. Hope they have some sort of explanation for this.

ATTN: MY350z forum members..

please do not confuse this "z1" with Z-1 Performance Inc. aka Z1auto.com from NYC aka Adam/Kwame ..they are NOT the same company..

Adam/Kwame are NOT associated with the Z1 that is listed in the thread. that place that sold the questionable rotors are out of GEORGIA...

We've been purchasing the 13" rotors from our supplier as Brembo rotors. Our purchase orders state Brembo rotors. Our supplier buys blank rotors and then does the cross dilling and slotting before shipping them to Z1. After asking our supplier today (after it was brought to our attention) we were informed that when he runs out of Brembo blanks from time to time he sends replacements of equal or higher quality. We were assured we were not being sent "autozone" rotors. He informed us that all the part numbers from the major manufacturers of blanks cross reference and that most of the quality replacements are made in the same factory anyway, just sold under different brand names. Needless to say, if there are any problems we will take care of them. If anyone has problems or concerns please let us know. We feel confident there won't be any issues and that the blanks are all of consistent quality.

Found this over there, I used to buy a lot of stuff off these guys, hope it's not something shady and Russell is telling the truth.

Really odd to hear if it is really true. That site that is linked is hard to read.

Z1 Motorsports is top notch and they do great work. All I have ever heard from/about them is great stuff. I would wait for one of the empleyee's to chime in this thread.

what do you mean that's not the smart way to do it? Stoptech uses Centric rotors, they become "Stoptech" after they drill, slot, or drill/slot them.

If the rotors are not designed to be drilled or slotted they will crack much easier. No it is not the smart way of doing it.

+1, never heard a bad thing about them, meet them just a month ago and seemed like alright guys. I will have to wait to see what they say first.

so what? stillen buys DBA rotors, labels them as stillen, and charges close to twice what they cost from DBA. stoptech uses centric blanks (from what i read). it happens all the time. a lot more than you know or that vendors will ever admit to.

and yes, there are two sides to every story. really hate when someone makes a thread with the intention of busting out a vendor. just for the sake of "thinking they are doing everyone a favor" when the part in question has nothing to do with the 350Z or the G35 at all

But think about what you just said. So you are saying, because this specific incident isn't directly related to the 350Z or G35, you don't want to hear about it? If this actually does turn out to be true, what would make you think that this isn't going on with G35 or 350Z parts also? I would think people would want to hear things like this so they are aware of vendors who would so such a thing!!!!

have you actually seen their site and what they have for sale or are you just making assumptions?

considering the kit in question is for the 300zx, and as far as the use of the word brembo when it comes to the G35/350z on their site that is used to determine the brake set up is either for a brembo equipped car or a non-brembo car. it does not specifically say "brembo rotors" are being used.
