Default Quick shocks question

I have a 2004 Z and was wondering if I should just buy shocks from a 08 or just buy some Tokico HP(blues) ?

if you get the shocks from an 08 , you should probably get the updated springs to go with them if you don't have an 04.5

Get D-specs if you have the money....much better if you plan to track. For daily driver the blues are good, but not adjustable.

I have used Koni yellows with Tein S-Tech on them for sale. Took them off a while back just never got around selling them. Interested?

We simply don't know enough factual info on the HP to suggest it would be worth a price premium over a fresh 08 oem shock set. So, in my mind HP vs oem 08 shocks would largely come down to cost and condition. If the price spread isn't large enough between the two or you can't really be certain the used 08 shocks are in guaranteed excellent condition, just go with the HP's.

Koni's are going to valved better then oem unrevised 04 shocks, however they are performance valved so they will retain a bit of that shocks behavior on the freeway and on less then perfect condition's ride and drive wise. In comparison the two times I've driven a car that had D-specs on, it had less of this tendency.

He has to track his car to consider used Koni shocks which will sell for a fraction of what they sell for NEW?

Not trying to be a Tokico Hater....but i have the blues in my garage and they SUCK!....My Tokico D-specs have horrible valving and are now dead after a month and a half.

and all i do is freeway driving!!!!!!!!

i recommend either a stock replacement from Nissan....or Koni......anything more and you are looking at coilovers.....

I wasted 900.00 on both Tokico shocks....now i am looking into coilovers....

I'll bet if you install Koni's on the same springs your ran the HP's and D-specs with, you'd say the same thing. I do not believe your issues are shock related. To that end, please send of your HP's and D-specs to Tokico to be looked at for free under warranty. Otherwise, please reframe from posting how horrible they are until you get independent confirmation that something is actually wrong with them. Not posting to be mean, posting because of how you worded your past post's on the whole subject.
