Default Lowering springs and settling

Do used lowering springs take time to settle just like new springs? I just installed a set of springs that were on a Z for at least 8K miles and the drop is a lot less than I expected.

All springs will take an hour or so of driving to FULLY settle.

I will take it for a drive and leave them to settle over night to see if it gets and better. But as of right now, Tein S-Techs - 27.4" to the fender well, Hotchkis - 28" to fender well.

Springs are always "settling." From the day you put them on until the day you take them off.

Measure from the wheel centerline to the fender.

Yes. If you are waiting to see a noticeable drop from those springs, it is going to take longer than you have to live, and more miles than your car can drive. Just appreciate what you have now because that is about all you would get.

That doesn't make a difference because my tire is the same height before and after spring swap

The Teins were the before springs and they have almost a year's worth of settling.

Why will it not allow me to close/ delete my own thread?

That is odd.

Oem is of course 26.9"/27.8" front and rear (with 18" oem tires)

What tire sizes are you rolling front and rear?

Are you the original owner of the car?

The tires are 255/35-19 and 275/35-19 so they are pretty close to stock diameter. After driving a little bit, I am at 25.9" front and 27.1" rear...pretty perfect for me.

It's just a bit more accurate to measure from the wheel centerline because you take out the inconsistent variables (tires), it helps you for later measurements, and measuring from the floor to the fender doesn't help others get a good comparison because they're not running the same wheel set up.
