Default Subaru Brembo calipers brakes and rotors on a Z?

Hey guys, my friend has an 06 WRX STI and upgraded from his brembos and will give them to me for a killer price, their bolt pattern is 5x114 i believe and ours is 5x114.3 is it possible to put the brembos on our car? what would need to be done to make it work if anyone knows or has done this? please let me know so i can either buy his stuff or he can sell it. Thanks for anyones input!

prob end up costing you more money in the long run, like everybody else that tries to do these car to car conversions.

Moot point, but dont the STI's brembos have a large "STI" engraved in them instead of Brembo?

Try to put them on and see where you need to go. I'm sure you'll need new brackets.

These just say Brembo, but i have seen the ones with STI engraved, this if from an 06' if that makes a difference for years with the engraving or not... Id do the swap but garage time will be awhile to just try so it will cost money just to figure it out, was wondering if anyone had tried before or knew exact specs on what to do or is needed to do.

you'll have to measure the piston sizes that come off the STI to see if it will have enough stopping power for our Z as the weight distribution is different in both cars. you may inadvertently be biasing the braking power...(either too much front or worse. too much rear which might cause a lock up in RWD)

not only that you will need to see if the knuckle will fit the caliper bolt spacing for the STI and create/machine a bracket to adapt it to the correct rotor size for the Z.. just because it is 5x114 as well, doesn't mean the rotor will be properly spaced / aligned with the center of the caliper after it's installed... there's alot more to think about than just "bolting it on and running the brake lines"

neither the calipers nor the rotors will fit

the rotors have a much different offset vs the Z, and the calipers mount in totally different ways

brembos for the Z are fairly easy to locate, and you won't need to worry about fabbing anything

they are not the same - the only similarity is the rear caliper uses the same pad as an STi and Evo
