Default strut tower brace install question

I bought a Greddy strut tower brace, and am wondering is it just a simple unbolt the old one and install the new one or are there some precautions i need to take before unbolting the stock one....I did do a little trolling around here but did'nt dig too hard and found nothing on it.

Crack the lock nuts, loosen off the tension and unbolt it.

Any reason for the downgrade?

I noticed no "downgrade" when I installed mine...no change at all really.

I have the same brace, just back the tension off of the stock brace, loosen all the bolts, remove, replace with new one, tighten all the new bolts to torque specs and enjoy! If you get a growling sound, your the brace is hitting the plenum. Just take one side off, put a spacer washer under all four bolts and replace the nuts. My advice is to add a plenum spacer at the same time (just a poor excuse for more mods )

+1. OEM strut brace: take off the tension with the center bolt before removing.

Take off your stock bar, raise the front end so both tires are suspended and there's no stress on your struts, install new bar and then lower it.
