Eibach sportline ok to go with stock shocks ?
I'm intrested in purchusing a set of eibach sportline's which from searching is the perfect drop i'm looking for. I have crossed coil overs outa my head because i'm not looking to go that low and adjustable dampning and all that will not come into play for me in specific.
My question is if i get the sportlines will they last with my stock shocks ? or should i get new shocks ?
I'm trying to be cost effective i know some people are gonna thorw really expensive shocks at me but i'm just looking for the drop and shocks that wont blow on me after couple months of usage.

they should work fine a friend of mine has had his on stock shocks for about 3 years now,
word of advice, if your buying springs dont waste anytime or headaches, get a rear camber kit as well while your at it

the stock shocks will definitely wear out over time, and will do so much much sooner than tokiko, kyb, or whatever other performance shocks are out there. stock shocks weren't designed to compress as much as eibach springs will let them.

Is the car being lowered? Are the spring rates being increased ? Guess what, they won't last long!! Maybe 5k miles, and the people who say they have been running them for years, are on blown shocks and just don't know it.

Ive had them for about 50k miles with the stock shocks. Im at 95,000 miles now and my shocks have just recently went out. Its all bouncy on the highway and my handling has went to crap. I dont think the shocks went from the springs though, I think just the mileage in general has killed them.
They were perfect for the longest time, the ride was super stiff with Zero body roll. It felt like a race car. Im ordering at set if Tokico blues after the holidays are over.

With shorter springs, your stock shocks have to do more work than before with 60-70 % of their normal movement range. You need shorter shocks that match the length of your shortened springs.
I got the Eibach sportline with the Bilstein B8 shocks and I am very very happy with the results.

Actually you don't know anything...like davidv said
This doesn't mean that the shock's life is going to get significantly shorter.
Shorter springs simply reduce the maximum extension of the shock.

I'll make this simple for the common idiot to try understand it.
Increasing spring rate and changing the starting point of the movement range for the shock piston will wear out a shock that is not designed for that application very fast.
Look at Manu's post, also helps out. Usually the shocks arn't shorter , they are just designed different internally for lowered application.

Whenever you lower your car that much on stock shocks, it puts more stress than normal and will make the shocks wear out faster. Eventually you will need to get better shocks, but how long it takes is different for everyone. For me it took only about 10k miles with the sportlines on, then i got dspecs...
In my opinion, just get the shocks and springs at the same time, you will like the ride wayyyyy better with better shocks...
