car scraping when going over bumps
but seriously, i really wouldnt care until i had to drive to homedepot with my girl, and they have these deadly speedbumps and my car just scraped like crazy. (shes only 100 lbs)
OP are u running on stock wheels?
if so,
you can also do this:
get yourself 18x9.5 rims plus
255/40 18
275/40 18's
this should give you extra 1 to 1.5 cm more clearance from stock
OR
get 19"er's

Guys, he's scraping on stechs which barely drop the car to begin with. And you're telling him to get coils which is most likely drop it even more? That makes no sense.
OP, there's no magic solution here. You either need to:
1. Raise the car to increase ground clearance
2. Stop going to home depot with your car
You won't be able to remove anything from under the car to make it all better. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Okay your on springs.....meaning you hit a bump and your car "spring" bounces..the stock shocks are not great at controlling dampening.....so the bounce is inevitable - NO ADJUST ABILITY!!!
Were talking your existing drop you have NOW...
COILOVERS:
If you were to purchase coilovers and get to your EXACT same drop height then you can adjust your dampening on your coilovers and the spring perch on the coilover spring to stiffer and limit the "bounce" of the car.....thus helping the situation....
however, yes, the lower you go, the closer you get to speed bumps......
obviously, avoid speed bumps where possible.......I too drive to home depot, mainly in my Xterra, but if i would take the Z, drive through the rear of the parking lot then pull up closer to park.....
again,
you can not even remotely get close to the quality and adjustability of a coilover over just a spring set up........coilovers you get full adjusability - ride height, dampening, spring stiffening, etc......"quality" depends on the coilover purchased...
again, it is also the name of the game..........gotta pay to play...you wanna go lower, your gonna scrap ish..........get use to it, or go around the bumps....drive slower over them etc....
oh and the moving up of the shifter when hitting a bump is also caused by hitting the tranny cross member.

OP....get a beater, problem solved!! Then you can be "big pimpin' " when you and your girl go out. And "slummin' " when you gotta go to Home depot! Unless you got one of those GFs that won't ride in the beater and wears those Gucci knockoff big ole' high maintnence sunglasses while doing the "fish lips" pose 24-7! If that's the case, make a choice! lol

honestly the scrapes doesnt bother me much. im just worry that if i scrape too much i might break something.
in no way will i make the car higher or back to stock, it look stupid with 19s and a kit

OP, the perfect combination for you in the ultimate of adjustability would be running air suspension WITH coilovers if your pockets can suffice. Otherwise, you would have to sacrifice your kit or just simply plan your routes accordingly. It sucks, but will save you more headaches and money in the longrun. It's just the nature of the beast. Im running my 350 on digital air as stated above, and I can assure you I can keep up with the best of them in the corners. Many options out there...

I know what youre talking about though, im stock height and the bottom of my Z scrapes driving down the road without any bumps, any slight height difference in the road and itll do it
