Default brake question

im used to changing my own pads and im self taught in that aspect but my current pads are not up to standered for a track day i just changed the rotors and iv only put maybe 500 miles on these pads and rotors
so i have to questions
1. what exactly happens if you dont resurface your rotors when you change your pads

2. can slotted rotors be resurfaced iv heard two different things on this?

Some members recommend resurfacing rotors - some do not. Figure a new pad is perfectly flat with no groves. A resurfaced rotor is also flat. No high-low points. The pad-rotor contact is perfect.

Yes you can resurface slotted rotors. Why not?

Intall your track day pads, bed the pads , have fun. Swap to nontrackday pad after , and repeat.

Do it all the time.
