Not the exact rotors I ordered, should I care?
So I ordered a set of r1 concepts slotted rotors from dnj wheels, figuring I'd get what was in their picture (below). I just got the set yesterday and the look like the adjacent picture (rotorpros); however, the veins are still zinc coated black unlike the rotorpros- so I'm not sure I got duped in any way.
Since, I already have these simple slotted rotors, should I just keep them? I realize the slot difference isn't that significant, but were the ones I ordered initially better in some way? This happen to anyone else trying to order the 'offset' slotted rotors?
Thanks,
Matt

shops usually use pretty generic pics - too much hassle to have the actual picture of every rotor for every vehicle.

other than.... cooked at the track (NOT slotted) have the slotted on now

Wow, you must've had those things glowing orange! I don't understand why they would use a generic picture, but that's a pretty good explanation. Here is a picture of my the rotors I received in lieu of the offset slotted...

I figured the offset dimpled slots were better because the cuts were shallower and that the offset would compromise the structural integrity of the rotor less. But I could definitely be wrong.
I hate eBay.
Maybe give them a call and explain the situation. If you bought them primarily for the unique double-slotted look I think you have a valid complaint. As far as performance - not sure you will notice a difference..
I had a similar experience when I bought rotors.. I thought the cap would be black, and it wasn't. I also thought I was buying Stoptech and got Powerslot (before I knew one company merged with the other).. Called the vendor and got the explanation I needed.

It's worth at least a phone call to the vendor to see if what they have to say. It does happen that incorrect product gets shipped out by mistake.
FWIW, I have the same rotors and I like them. But I knew what I was getting.
In short, you have a reasonable reason to expect what was pictured, especially if you paid any kind of a premium over typical slotted rotors to get them.

I had the same exact thing happen. I wanted the unique look of the "offset" slots, but I got the regular slots. I didn't think it was worth fighting over, so I didn't complain. I have had the rotors on for 1.5 years and 25k miles, no problems so far. The only thing I would do different is apply high-temp primer to keep the rotor faces from looking rusty.
