front tower strut bar - one that goes in front of the plenum?
are there any front tower strut bars that go in front of the plenum? I am having a clearance issue with my new hood thanks to my plenum spacer and I tried a few different size spacers for the stock strut but no dice there..
are there any that go in *front* of the plenum that might work, or should I just buy one of the flat design ones? I'm hoping to spend less then 200$. thank you in advance for your suggestions.

the parts giving me grief working together? a seibon ts hood, stock intake plenum with a motordyne 5/16 isothermal spacer. had to raise the stock strut tower bar to accomdate the size of the plenum spacer :P
or are you curious as to the entire list of mods? bassani dual exhaust, pop charger, osiris reflash and dyno tune, rota grids 18x9.5 all the way around with 245/275 falken fk452s, sony gigapanel, alpine 10" in a understrut sub box, clifford 1 mile paging alarm / remote start, shine auto v2 front bumper with canards, shine auto amuse sides, shine auto nismo rear add ons, the diffuser that hr autoparts sells, and my favorite, an acura rdx antenna.
I will probably be doing the hotchkis tvs1 kit (sways/springs) and calling it good for a while. potentially hfc's and a retune.

Update:
I tried a few different sizes of spaces for the stock strut tower brace and it wouldn't work. it either hits the hood or the engine rubs, there is no happy middle zone.
I paid 250 for a stillen front tower brace (which is way overpriced for the quality), and it does not work. you have to remove the engine cover (apparently an after thought of mine, you would need to do this for any in front of the plenum style one), and even then, I would need a new hose kit and some crafty running to make it work.
the piece arrived new from stillen and it looked really beat up, scratched, burnt, and the welds were very inconsistent and looked **** poor in some areas. it would probably crack after enough use. not happy with it at all
I'm already buying a mod to make another mod work, I'm not going to buy a mod to make the mods' mod work. : P
at this point I'm not sure what I want to get. I will be upset if I buy a gt spec or cusco or another flat style strut tower brace only for it to not work after this.

That sucks dude! I'm sure plenty with disagree but IMO, Stillen products are crap! Their customer service is worse than their products.
I'm more or less local to you and have a GT Spec Type-D strut bar you could try (doesn't work for me). If it works and you like it maybe we can work out a deal.

late response here but better late then never. the engine cover can be modified for this sort of situation. here is what I did with mine (forgive the dirty engine bay but vented hoods in a rainy area make it pretty impossible to keep up w/ : P)
that plenum is just way too ugly to leave fully exposed without pulling it out and doing some extensive work to powdercoat or polish it.
