Advice on springs?
My girlfriend has a 2004 350z. Her wheels are 19s in the rear and 18s up front. The car needs lowered badly. I've read a lot of posts about alignment problems when going lower than 1". There is a lot of gap and I think a 1" drop in the rear and 1.5" in the front would look much better. I've found that h&r sells a set with the drop stated as 1.3 front and 1'' rear. This might work out ok but I'm not really familiar with the brand. Unfortunately coilovers seem out of the price range, so can you guys please give me some opinions on the h&r or other recommendations? Thank you.

Thanks Cornell. It's not that I cant afford the coilovers I just cant see spending over a grand for coilovers on a car that she is just going to drive to work. She just wants to close up the wheel well gap. I know I'll need to take care of the alignment issues also, but what else are you referring to?

its really not that expensive go get a set of tanabe gf210 and some tokico blues and a pair of rear camber bars. Do the the rear cup mod to lower the rear a tad more and you will be all set and an alignment of course. springs $180 Tokico $280 Camber $150. Its actually a nice little budget setup. The wheel gap will be completely gone

To answer part of your question, H&R has been around for years and make a good product. Also, many people just lower the car with springs for looks. Me included with my first Z.

I've been looking to lower for a little while and that setup seems very reasonable duro. Is a Camber kit still needed if an alignment is performed every couple months. Reason I ask is I have a lifetime alignment through Firestone and was wondering if I could skip on the camber kit?
Thanks

^^^the thing is its hard to get within specs cus the stock camber arms arent adjustable. You dont have to buy the shocks right away but keep in mind the stock ones will blow out in a matter of time and you might as well when the work is being done. Oh yeah one more thing its a common problem once lowered the stock endlinks give out so i suggest changing those also powergrid makes some nice adjustable ones for $150. Yes coilovers are expensive but i knid of wish i saved up but its your girls car so it doesnt matter much
