Default Super bouncy suspension

Okay guys, i know youre gonna kill me with a few comments, but listen up. I havent driven my z in at least 5 months. I have a g37s coupe. my daily driver. I really got used to the suspension driving it all through winter. So we finally had a nice week here in chicago and i drove the z the other day. Holy ****, i dont know if the suspension took a crap over the winter, but i was on the highway and the grooves in the road were just bouncing me around. I was with a girl and she just looked at me and we both started laughing. Kinda ridiculous, cars got 50k miles stock suspension all around. 2003 without the updated springs but i do have wheels, 20" vellano vsh 3 piece among other things non suspension related. So the question is, if i wanted a real subtle lowering spring, which do you think would be a good choice?

Cobb or Hotchkis spring with NEW STRUTS would the ticket to getting a better ride and being slightly lower.

D specs would be a great choice for struts.

Sure I will get right on it. Look up lowering kits. Spring rates. Compare prices and get back with you. Will Monday be OK?

CObb are discontinued, so finding them might be tough. Their also higher rated then stock and it sounds like you want something more comfortable so they may not be what your looking for.

Just slightly higher than stock, something really needed when lowering. The main part than will help the OP is actually going to be the revised spring rates (cobb or late model suspension has) and good dampers.

Perhaps consider picking up a set of progressive springs and some adjustable dampeners? I ran Eibach Pro (1" drop all around) and DSpecs. When dialed in properly, the ride can be really comfortable.

Bouncing like stiff bounces? Or like soft floppy bounces? There's a difference... It should be stiff, you may just have been on a road surface that had the undulations in the perfect spot for the shorter wheelbase to really react and cause this. The Z should feel a fair bit stiffer than the G37, as they make those a bit softer.

So which is it? Stiff bounce or floppy bounce? 50K miles on stock shocks, with it being lowered can kill shocks pretty quick... they will get really floppy and bouncy and your car will not handle as well. You may need some new aftermarket shocks that can handle the lowered Z.

I run Koni shocks on my Z and love them, but I have Bilsteins on our Magnum RT and the ride is great. -Well controlled, (better than stock ever was) but not harsh in any way.

If you are looking for comfort, I would recommend Bilsteins.

As for springs, the Hotchkis springs are very close to stock spring rates for 03-04 Z's
