Default Adjusting Stance COilovers in the Front?

HELP PLEASE.

im getting fed up with these fronts and no adjusting and because it is both of them it makes me wonder if i am doing something wrong? Can someone please tell me if i am. In the picture you have the plate under the spring then you have the top collar two middle collars and the bottom collar. I broke the bottom one loose and then when i go to adjust the top collar it either just gets really tight and doesnt budge or breaks loose. WTF. Im not supposed to be touching that plate correct?

You need to tighten up the top ring against the spring perch, that one is to adjust pre-load.

Next, un-screw the break line and loosen up the two middle rings. Rotate the middle piece(the one with the break line bracket) up in the coilover(toward the spring). Go up as far as you can so that you have room to go lower.

Last, un-bolt the very bottom bracket(the one with the stance sticker) from the car. Run the little gold ring up to give the lower mount some room. Rotate the lower mount up on the coilover to make the car lower, down to make it higher.

When you're done, tighten all the gold rings with the spanner wrench and hook everything back up.

Yah thanks buddy I figured it out but it got dark so the whip is sitting outside. I tried droping everything down so i can adjust it without taking the coilover out from the top but it looks like it will be hard.....

It can be done but you have to remove the sway bar(I think) for a quick second. I hate adjusting the fronts b/c there is so much shit you have to unbolt.

Nice, but you rotate the "cup" not the whole coilover.

i thought the stance instructions say not to move/adjust the spring collar, so as to not change the preload...

Thats true. The spring collar is the darker gold one (the top one) against the spring. Like everyone else said, you want to spin the cup at the bottom to raise/lower the car.

As I recall, I unbolt the upper A-arm, sway bar, and the bottom of the shock to adjust height. that gives some extra room so you don't have to take it off the car to adjust.

I thought the top 2 collars are the only ones needed to adjust height? On mine thats what I did I didnt mess with that bottom section. I just broke the two collars free and adjusted them?

well if u take the bottom bolt off, then yea u can rotate the cup.. but the way i do it is jus loosen the top bolt so everything can turn freely

damn this sounds so confusing, i remember when i had coilovers on my integra it wasnt this difficult to adjust, why are there so many rings on this? is this just how it was designed for stance or pretty much for the g35/350z?

i am getting a set soon for the g35, so you guys are telling me to adjust it i have to remove the brake line, and the entire assembly everytime i want to lower/raise my car?

Its actually really easy to do, some of the non mechanically inclided people just make it seem hard.

Set your preload and lock the two upper rings together

The next two rings that sandwitch the brake line holder, leave them loose so you don't have to remove the brake line.

Make sure the lower lock ring is loose, then what i do if i want to go higher is use my spanner on the lower of the two preload rings to extend the shock body, if i need to lower it i use the upper preload ring (with the two locked together it works fine)

Once your at the new height, lock the bottem shock body ring, and lock the brake hose holder in place, and your done.

If you can work in tight places you don't even have to remove the wheel.

how tight is the preload spose to be set at? I don't track my car or anything, just normal everyday driving? Are the springs suppose to be snug, loose, or pretty tight?

I just put my Stances on a few weeks ago. I didn't have to take anything off to adjust ride height, but I also thought they were pretty easy to adjust too

Why is this so confusing. The stance USA instructions on their website has three easy steps. Are the steps not capturing the steps in enough detail?

To raise it I thought you keep the top lock ring locked with the spring load ring the darker gold ring. And the rotate it counter clockwise and the bottom lock ring will rise and you measure the height you want and do the same on the other.

Then to lower you break loose the bottom lock ring and raise it a certain height then rotate it ( not sure what it is that we are rotating) then lock the bottom ring once the lowered height is achieved.

Are the fronts and rear different or am I missing something? Please any help. Planning to do this tonight.

So I raised the back coilovers. Loosened the bottom locking ring with the spanner wrench then used it as the staring measuring point. Then I made sure the top locking washer was locked tightly against the spring washer then I turned the spring washer counter clockwise to raise the coilovers. As I turned the spring washer, it would turned smooth and sometimes make that spring tense noises not a pop but something similar. I was told this was normal.

Then once I got the desired ride height I tightened the bottom lock washer and made sure the top lock washer was still tight and put my wheels back on with 88 ft/lbs roughly.
