Answer for Hawk HPS brake pads squeal!!
Hi guys I apologize my short English. Those of you who are having trouble to understand my language, please reply on me.
I bought the hawk brake pads a week ago. And I had same squeaky noise problem, especially in low speed(mostly I heard from front brakes). After I read some treads about hawk brake pads squeal, I thought maybe the shim behind the front brakes are causing that noise.
So here is the thing. Today I put the wheels off and took off the shim which came with hawk pads(not the old shims from OEM one). They are easily come off without an effort. Then rub some silicone grease on the back of the pad. I suggest to put enough amount of grease so that it makes some coat between shim and brake pad itself. after that put back the old shim behind brake pads.I guess that grease literally absorbs vibration from braking. Personally thinking that if we put double shim on pads, then it may cause some noise. Before you put back caliper on rotor, check that brake pads.
If you don't put it in right position they just stick on rotor and do not come back..
By so far after I put just single shims, I don't hear any noise at all.
Guys who are having same problem like I had, try what I did.
Thank you for reading my poor tread! I hope this might work.

when every you change pads you want to appy a small amount of brake greses to the shims if you dont chances are you will get brake squeal they sell it in lil packets at the counter of pretty much every auto parts store
I did apply on back of the pads and between the pads, but they did make noise. So my suggestion is to remove the shim that comes with Hawk brake pad and put old shims from OEM brake pads. Someone said the squeak is due to its compound but I don't think so.
So do mine. Mine actually squeak really bad. I'm thinking of getting different pads soon, even though my HPS's have plenty of life left just because the squeaking is so annoying. Although I did just find out recently that the brake shop that installed my pads didn't use that grease that came with them

My HPS pads didn't come with shims, and I do not have the oem shims (brembo).. I'm thinking of applying greese to the pad anyways - even though it will contact the piston directly.
I'll probably run without the grease first to see how bad the noise is. Doesn't seem like it could be worse than my carbotechs.. they squeak quite a bit at slow speeds.
