how much we talking? You got some picture with them installed?

 

I would be interest as long as they hold up (aka, dry carbon fiber and not the stuff made of low temp resin) and don't cost and an arm and a leg. Just an arm might be ok.

Man I've been looking forever for a set of spindle ducts. No one manufactures a set, and racecars that use them, fab them themselves, or make a one-off set.

I'll probably go the dust shield route, and use a set of these;

Made some more progress. I had to make a bracket that moves the inlet forward about 1" to 1.5" so that the hose could make the bend out to the rotor. Just need to paint the new bracket and then fasten the new bracket to the stock enclosure and the drivers side should be done.

 

I know Gates makes cooling hose--they use it to route heat for many car heaters. Stillen also uses the Gates hose in their bumper which already has the ducts built into the bumper.

I think Gates charges for it by the foot and it is available in lengths up to 6ft.

I got my brake cooling duct work from eBay. If you search you'll see several folks that sell it on eBay. Look for the 100% positive feedback and cheap shipping. Mine came in 2 days. I bought 10 feet. It looks like 10 feet is going to be just enough. I haven't finished the passenger side yet so I hope I've got enough left. I bought the 300 deg F capable hose. The ID of the hose has a smooth lining to help with the air flow. It looks pretty durable. I also looked at some of that HVAC or dryer ducting...I was really tempted given how much cheaper it is. I don't know if that aluminum or metal flex hose can make the bend radius of the 300 deg F flex hose? I was also worried that the hose has to be flexible enough to bend as the suspension moves...so I was worried the HVAC stuff would crack and break.

 

Finished the drivers side inlet completely. Here's the final pictures that shows the modification to the front grill so that the inlet can be squared up with the air flow and moved forward about 1 inch. This allows the hose to easily complete the bend out to the rotor.

The outlet diffuser into the rotor is now in it's early stages. 3" OD steel tube (ok, should have been Aluminum, next time!) I've cut it down and made a plate that my friend will weld in place. This is just a test fit but it looks pretty good... 18 inches of steel exhaust tube from a local auto store for about $9.00

 

Ok, duct routing is now complete and I just have to figure out how to attach the metal ends. The passenger side was not fun. I had to bend some of the steel power steering lines but it did ultimately fit and didn't require me to move the power steering cooler. To get the hose through the windshield washer reservoir I had to crush the brake hose into a oval/triangular shape in order to fit it up in the crevice. I used some clamps to shape the hose. Barely fits...

Hopefull my friend finishes welding up the steel ends tonight so I can finish this thing!

 

That passenger side routing does not look fun. Could you highlight where you had to bend the power steering line?

 

Dam thats tight, i'm going to move my power steering cooler over a little when i put the next size bigger one on. I kinda wonder about the hose routing, i want to move my oil cooler to the pass side behinde the bumper. That washer reservior and hose my hose me on that.
