Default BBK with 17" MB Weapons

Hi, I have a set of 17 x 9, +17 MP Weapons that I'm using as my track wheels. I'm thinking about upgrading my brakes, and I'm interested in anyone who has experience using these wheels with bigger brakes. I have searched, and found several references, but nothing too definitive. Thanks in advance.

ps: should I also post this in the wheels/tires section?

I have a set of 14 inch 6 piston wilwoods on my car with those wheels. I have 5mm clearance on the barrel and 2 inches on the spokes.

https://my350z.com/forum/autocross-r...me-attack.html can't see the brakes very well, but you can see them in this thread. I didn't buy them as a fashion statement. I drive the #91 car.

Are your wheels the +17 offset? Looking at my wheels on the car, I'm certainly not surprised at the clearance you have from the spokes, and they appear to have an unusual amount of clearance at the inner edge of the barrel for a 17" rim. Thanks for the reply; much appreciated.

+27 with 10mm spacer, but the wheels are the same face and everything as the +17's. The spoke clearance will be identical as my setup, and the barrel clearance doesn't change.

better pic

My daily driving (Nt03's) are on the car now and will be till early July, otherwise i would take some better pics for you.

Thanks, Terrasmak; that's really helpful, and thanks for taking the trouble to post the picture, it's really appreciated. Nice touch including your trophy plaque in the pic, by the way

That pic was from a couple months ago. Founds it and figured it showed the brakes pretty well with the wheels.

Okay, so it is clear that the Wilwood 6 pots fit with 14" calipers, which is certainly a very attractive option. Anyone have any experience with any other kits with these wheels? I know there is a template that can be used to determine if the Akebono kit from CZL fits (which I'll do when I pull my track wheels off) but has anyone used that setup with these wheels? I'm not trying to open a can of worms by bringing that kit up, but at the price it's an option that is worth at least looking at.

Wish i could check for you, not many 370's in my local group.

The reason i would steer away from the OEM 370z brakes, are pad selection sucks, pad selection is expensive, no 2 piece rotors available yet.

Wilwood rotors (rings) are $275 each, street pads are $64 and Poly B race pads are $130 and all available.

For a little over $3k you can get front and rear wilwoods with 2 piece rotors thru Todd at TCE http://www.tceperformanceproducts.co...s.pl?record=22 and yes he is a supporting vendor on here. Great person to deal with.

Great info; thanks again. I knew about the problems getting 2 piece rotors for the akebonos, but didn't know about the problems with pad selection; very good to know.
