Default Braking noise

New owner of Touring model, I've noticed a contact or grinding noise when braking. Is this usual for this car? Thanks for your reply.

How many miles? Have you check for "tire feathering or cupping".? I noticed mine when braking between 30-40 mph. The noise is what made me check my tires. Some have reported it as early as 3500 miles. As a result of checking, I now have "new" OEM front tires compliments of NNA. With new tires, had TSB performed for the 2nd time. While performing TSB, Nissan Tech. discovered that "Toe" was way off, while "Camber" was right on. He also picked up that "Steering Wheel" was not alligned. I also installed Hawk HPS Brake Pads. Got rid of some braking squeel, but more important that "brake dust".

I have about 4500 miles, I had talked to another mechanic who told me it was normal and the brake dust was normal, I didn't understand this as my 300zx and corvette does not do this unless there's problems with pad. Ron, they changed your tires and performed the other work did this stop the rubbing and dusting? Thanks

Just talked to my dealer, he says the dusting is normal but the rubbing is not, he will look at it at my next scheduled maintenance which I have planned for next week to replace my amp.

The "dusting is normal" with the OEM pads. If you are using tire/wheel cleaner and washing your car, you are probably doing the washing just to clean up the wheels? I switched to Hawk HPS at around 19-20K. If I had switched where you are, the $$$ spent on cleaner and Zaino Z7 would have paid for the paids. The decision is yours. Hawk HPS Pads from : www.raceshopper.com $56 + $9 s/h.

Would you describe it as "rubbing" or "growling"? Is it constant on while braking at 30-40 mph? Like I said earlier, my "growling" is what alerted me to the "tire feathering problem".

If your dealer is wanting to help you, have him perform the TSB. At least have him do the alignment portion. Checking "camber" and "toe". You will like the "new" amp!
