Default Ultimate axxis or nismo

I recently bought fr/r hawk hps but i think they...suck.. So i'm deciding to get a new set for just rear this time. (Handing over my rear to my brother's G lol)
Do you guys recommend Axxis ultimate or nismo r-tune? i don't track my car but i definitely luv spirited driving.
Oh BTW, i hear that nismo pads aren't good for stock rotors. Someone said that it was in the description. forgot which website .is this true?
And axxis ultimate is not good for front caliper for daily driving on IPP website. Will i be 100% fine for rear use?

Just curious, why do you think Hawk pads suck? Reason I asked is I just bought a set . The feedback I heard for Nismo is that they are not worth the money. Of course if money isn't an issue, I would go with the Nismo.

hawk hps dont have any initial bite and don't do well when hot either. They're pretty crappy street pads. I had axxis ultimates after the hps and they're much better but they're dusty. I don't have experience with nismos.

Axxis Ultimates on the front are fine, but on the rear will be VERY noisy - I mean "wake up the neighbors" noisy!
I took them off. I couldn't stand it any longer

You may want to look into our StopTech Performance pads which has replaced Axxis in our complete lineup. Less noise and dust than HPS or Axxis ULT with a much higher temp range . A user on this site posted a review here, even took them on the track with no issue:

I like the color of the nismo pads lol. So far i only read 2 comments about nismo pads and they all said it's REALLY good and no dust.

i might look into ebc greenstuff depends on the component.

Keep in mind that rotors are consumable (wear) items just like brake pads. Buying pads to save the rotors gives you crappy track braking.

No, it wasn't just me complaining about Axxis Ultimates squealing. They used to come with the Stoptech BBK packages. Just ask Stoptech, they will tell you about their feedback. Their are several people on here who had the issue and ended up changing their rear pads because of it.

Is that mean Stoptech high performance pads would be no different than axxis? Stoptech specifically states that their pads are quieter than axxis and bite better

I used Axxis ULT on every car I've ever owned: 4th gen Maxima, S13 drift car with Z32 upgrade/Supra rotors, my daily driving G35C and they bite hard, no noise and wear great! Just gotta use plenty of grease or anti-squeal upon installation. Dust isn't terrible either.

I've had EBC green's on my sis' Subaru. They are awful! Don't do it if you really care about intial bite. You have to really stomp on the pedal and even then no confidence especially when it's cold and raining out.

Stoptech Street Performance may be my next pad! Supposedly they grip even harder than ULT. Been almost two years and my Axxis ULT still have plenty of meat on them

I think the more bite you have, the more of pads or rotors you lose. Currently i'm searching for what para-amira(?) material is that is used for Stoptech high perf pads.

I have a few hundred street miles on my StopTech Street Performance pads. They have great initial bite when cold. I plan to use them for a track day in August so I will let you know how they hold up. A couple times pulling into my garage after my commute home I have heard a light brake squeal. I have never heard a noise from from the brakes while driving. I do not have enough miles on them to comment on dust level.

I installed new rotors when I installed the pads. I only have ~500 miles on them but the rotors still look new. I do not believe these pads are aggressive enough to have to worry about "eating" the rotors, but regardless rotors are a wear item also so every couple sets of pads I expect to replace the rotors anyway.

The initial bite of the pads is fine, I see very little difference in the initial bite compared to the stock pads.

you see "very little" difference in the initial bit compared to the stock pads...how can you say that the stoptech pads have fine initial bite. I was expecting a lot better initial bite than the stock since it's kevlar and STOPTECH

IMHO stock pads in my '05 coupe bite pretty decently. If I had to do it again I would go back to stocks. I can't really complain about the stockers. The only advantage these ULT pads have over oem is probably a higher temp range and maybe less dust. If I had to go back I would get the cheaper pad. The stoptech pads are supposed to be a little better than the ULT pads.

When using the ULT pads in place of oem on my old Maxima, the difference was night and day. Everytime I stomped on the brake it felt like my eyeballs were gonna come out. This time around in the G, I was glad the initial bite was at least equal if not a tiny bit better.

since my brother has a G, i drove the car alot. I agree that they have nice pads. But my 350z's pads are crappy. my dealer might have replaced them with craps before they sold the car to me..idk. I'm looking for pads that are little bit better than G35 pads though
