Who would seriously like a Stoptech 13" rear Big Brake upgrade?

In the short time I’ve been at StopTech, I’ve already gotten a number of requests for a rear 13” Big Brake Kit to match our front 13” kit. The requirement would be that it fit under the stock 17” wheel, just like our front kit does. DO NOT HOLD ME TO THIS PRICE (please read that line twice
), but we are talking about a kit costing somewhere in the ballpark of $3595. My question is, how many people would seriously consider buying the kit at this point? I’m talking to people that are seriously searching for a solution. If you have no intention of dropping that kind of cash on brakes, please don’t tell me that you will. I’m trying to realistically gauge interest, and whether it’s worth putting our engineering efforts behind this thing. I won’t get into the technical issues involved, but it’s going to require a bit of work to pull it off.
From what customers have told me…it seems like the primary reasons people want this kit are as follows:
1. The miniscule size of the rear pads…they wear out quickly, as do the rotors.
2. There are a limited number of 18” R compound tires (relative to 17”)…which makes people less apt to buy our four wheel 14” kit (which requires an 18" wheel).
3. People with the Track model are finding that their brakes are not quite up to snuff under heavy track use.
Any others?
Please do not bug me about timing on this! At this point, I just want to gauge interest, and see what the current issues are. I will ensure that your feedback is heard. If we find that it’s feasible on our end (both mechanically and financially), we’ll do our best to come up with a solution to this problem. Thanks everyone.

Since I asked Bob a while ago......I'm very interested. It would not have to be a 4 piston set-up. I'm looking for more heat soak capacity and longer pad life. If a 12 inch set-up would work, I'd still be interested. I want something compatible with your 13.1 inch front kit. I don't want to mix & match different manufactures products.
I want/need a better track set-up.....
BTW....please talk to engineering about re-routing your front brake lines.......mine are cooked!

Could you elaborate more on your 'cooked brake lines' comment? What exactly is the problem in a PM...don't want to get this thread off track. I haven't had any issues with mine yet, but if there is an issue, we need to fix it. Please let me know asap. Thanks.
Sorry if this doesn't exactly have to do with this thread, but is the 355 x 32 brake kit 14 inch rotors for the front and back? If not, then i would be interested in at least the 13 inch kit for the rear.

We sell a 355mm (14") kit that is front only, and we sell a kit that is 355mm front and rear. The idea with the 13" kit however, is to allow our users to run 17" wheels at the track (stock or other), which opens up a lot more R compound tire options.
Our 14" kit is pretty awesome though.

I'd just need the rear set-up. I'm with Bruce in that if a 12" kit works just as well to give me bigger pads and make changing pads easier, I'd take that. ANYTHING is better than those small saucers in the back.
I am interested in a 13" four wheel kit. I am not at this point willing to spend $4,500 plus on a four wheel 14" kit, nor to I think I need it for street/autocross driving. However, I would consider spending $3,000 on a 13" four wheel kit. I also do not want to mix and match brakes on the car. I would rather have one kit made by one manufacturer. I am currently looking at StopTech's 13" front kit, but I am unsure of what to do with the rear. Also I would hope that any 13" rear kit would be compatable with the front 13" kit for those who may have or will purchased it. Finally, I don't care if the rear kit has a two piston or four piston caliper. If a 2 piston caliber does the job and is less expensive it still has to be better than the stock non Track set up, especially with the 13" rotor. I think if StopTech would come out with a 13" four wheel kit in the $3,000 range they would sell. Thanks.

The problem with this is, if we make the rears, the pistons sizes in front would almost certainly have to be different to compensate for the changed brake torque characteristics. If it comes down to it, maybe we'll be able to cut you some sort of discount, etc. I'm not sure at this point, so don't quote me on that. I see where you're coming from though, and we definitely want to keep our loyal, early-adopter customers. Thanks.

If this ends up happening will you guys offer just the rears to guys like droideka and I who already have the fronts? If so I will purchase a set of rears if/when they come out.
