Is this normal?
It's pretty cold outside right now (30s). I just went on a short high speed drive, and did a bit of hard high speed braking. When I got back if I smelled around a wheel, it kind of smelled like burnt rubber, also I could have sworn I saw a little bit of white smoke. I just got these new pads like 2k miles ago. (Hawk HPS)

Well brakes won't smell like burnt rubber lol.
Tires heat up even when it's cold. Maybe you just smell the warmed up tire,???
Brake pads will smell when they are new but I would expect that by 2k miles they wouldn't be smelling anymore. Did u brake hard ? That could be the cause too. If the brakes overheated that could explain the steam u saw.
