Default Calipers

So I would like to upgrade my calipers (front and back) without having to buy an entire BBK. I already have EBC rotors, EBC Yellowstuff pads, SS lines and high temp fluid. In short, just the calipers are missing. I am running the stock ones and the car is a 2006 base model.

My question is, which calipers would be simple drop-ins without having to change everything? I would prefer Wilwood 6 pistons, but any six piston would do so long as it is a direct replacement.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Need a facepalm pic

Pads are caliper specific, calipers are rotor specific. In short you are actually missing Calipers, the proper pads for the upgraded calipers, and the proper size rotor for your upgraded calipers. When you order a BBK with the 3 parts listed above they come with the proper brake lines to run.

I think the reason big brakes are called big brakes is because the rotor is bigger than OEM. Good luck on this idea.

brembos from a junk yard...you have to get new pads and rotors though unless you find those in the mix as well.. oh and new lines..

I paid 700 for new rotors, new lines, and Brembos (and I got them powdercoated)..you wont find anything plug and play except for Brembos bud.. At least not for the price you want them for..

Not that your plan is not 'doable' but the value is really not there for you. Aside from appearances (granted for some this is the priority) the real net gains come from a larger and heavier rotor. For the more spirited driver rotor mass is your friend. In addition to providing more torque or leverage from having a larger diameter, the rotor is less prone to fade and runs cooler.

For those who want a caliper only kit (speaking each end of the car) I'm certain that I and others could provide you with one however the money spent (let's call it $900 ish for the Wilwoods your reference considering you'd need calipers, brackets, pads, hoses and hardware) that for only 5-600 ish more you'd get the entire 'kit' which would then offer you the improvements in rotor function- mass, cooling, appearance, total weight loss...making the caliper kit on this car not really a great investment.
