Default For those with Eibach Sportline

My GF recently bought me these springs for xmas and i plan on installing these soon.

My question is to those that are using them, have used them, or have knowledge about them. I have searched but didn't quite find the answer i was looking for.

QUESTION(s):
should i do the spring mount mod now or install the springs and wait for them to settle?

is the springmount mod necessary to even out the drop on the sportlines?

Thanks in advance!

Sport lines are pretty low for springs to begin with. I'd say the spring mount mod is more for the tanabe gf210's. With the sportlines and spring mount mod the rear will look saggy. I'd say just keep the spring mounts how they are now.

I would NOT do the spring mt mod with sportlines unless YOU think its not low enough. From what Ive seen - its a pretty aggressive drop..

this is the lowest i've seen sportlines drop.

but i've seen people with higher stances as well?

the black Z appears to be just a tad higher than the silver Z and both are dropped on sportlines.

i guess i'll just install and wait for them to settle in. how long does it take to settle? a few days/weeks?

Do not cut your mounts! The Sportlines are lowww and will get progressively lower as time goes on. If you cut them you will regret it!

My car on Sportlines with the stock 17's

I actually ended up pulling them out because my car would scrape everywhere i went after i moved.

Your rim and tire size could be a factor. Just intall and see where you are at.

i plan on running 18x10.5 all around. +12 up front and +0 in the rear. might keep it at +12 all around though.

Bro DO NOT CUT THE SPRING MOUNTS! Biggest mistake you'll regret in the long run. My boy did it to his Z and the back looks like a 500 pound fat woman is chillin in his trunk

What is the big deal though?. The springmount mod is not a permanent
thing that cannot be undone. A new set of springmounts cost about $60.00.

For some odd reason people think level actually is the SoCal Prerunner look, kinda like they think flush means the wheels stick out 2 inches from the fender.

Don't cut it, if you feel the need after a month and everything settles, cut it then.

I have the Sportlines. I agree with others, no cut necessary.

Make sure to get quality struts and shocks to match.

But which would be the best shocks/struts for the sportline drop?

D-Spec would be a good choice among others.

I Ran Tokico adjustables on mine; even on the softest setting, the Sportlines were pretty harsh. The Sportlines are pretty brutal, but they do look kick ***. I am slammed on Powertrix coilovers now with my TT 300Z, and the ride is better than it was in my 350Z with the Sportlines.

To beat a dead horse, don't cut the mounts with the Sportlines. It will drop you far lower than what they are rated at. A few pics of mine on Sportlines & Tokicos; I am also running -2 degrees of camber with 25mm spacers in the rear and 15mm in the front. You WILL need supporting mods to get it in camber spec (I ran SPC front camber arms, SPC rear camber arms, SPC toe bolts), which you might as well do at the same time as you install everything else.

I just installed mine over the weekend.

The drop was pretty crazy for just springs. I only got the rear toe bolt kit with the springs. During my research here...on a spring drop i've read that the rear camber arms were not necessary.

only drawback after dropping the car is the car feels super unstable in the rear. feels as if the rear is trying to go...left AND right. of course...i know i have to get it aligned but when i got to NTB....they couldn't get my car on the lift! FAIL!

so for now..the car is sitting until i can find a place with a flush rack/in ground alignment machine. will post pics once i get the car aligned.

just use some blocks to get it up there dude.

As for no camber arms in the rear...well, all I can say is, I told you to get them. Most people that say you don't need them are going off of the rated drop; the problem is that once they settle, the Sportlines are FAR lower than the rated drop. I've had them, and I wouldn't have got in spec with the stock camber arms.
