Default OEM axles rated at?

i been contemplating if i should try slicks on my turbo'd 350z for the dragstrip. im putting down around 425rwhp... would that be a high potential of snapping an axle? would like some input from experience possibly.

thanks,
jacques

I've seen stock axles handling even 600hp without any issues. The Z uses very beefed up differential and driveline parts.

what u mean, how is my drag racing with regular tires? i havent ran my car at the track being turbo'd now. Before i boosted my Z i did fairly good on street tires with 2.000 60' with a base 03 model. ran consistent 13.9s with only an intake.

so mildly launching with slicks i should be fine with stock axles?

as long as your preload the tranny you'll be fine. Slicks are WAY more forgiving than axle snapping drag radials.

and even if you do break, they are super cheap on ebay, so its no big deal.

just do it!

like anything else, it depends

on - your spring rates (amount of squat), how you launch (most people can't), tire height, and the type of slick you're talking about

Well how about DOT or ET street tires before graduating to slicks?
