Default Cusco A-Arm Ball Joint Issue?

I just received my Cusco A-arms. I pulled the conical metal piece off of the factory arms to put on the Cusco's and I noticed that the ball joints on the new A-arms have play in them. I can grab the threaded part and move it up and down. By up and down, I mean compressing it in the direction that the suspension will be compressing. It should not do this. That is normally a sign of a bad ball joint. Has anyone else had this issue with the Cusco's? Both of the arms do this by the way.

Also, when I tried to press the new conical piece on, it would go down all the way it needs to, but it would not stay in place. Is there a trick to keeping them on?

Thanks

I had bad ball joints in my used Cusco A-Arms as well. The great part is they cost $120 per side!

Did they come bad brand new though? I'm working on getting them replaced for free since they are brand new.

It's been a long time since I've installed a set of Cusco A-Arms. I think they are spring loaded? Does it feel like it has a spring inside? Or is it have play without any resistance that is typical of a spring loaded joint?

They did feel like their was resistance in them like they were spring loaded. Is that normal?

I think they are spring loaded. I cannot remember, but if it feels spring loaded then it is likely to be normal

Thanks for the input. I'll look into it a little bit more.

This is only one of the reasons I'm ditching my Cusco arms. SPL or Kinetix is what I'm deciding between.

I have the SPL, but I cannot use them for my race class because they add too many points. The SPL's are 7 and the Cusco's are only 4 due to the fact that the SPL's have spherical joints. Trust me, I would much rather use the SPL's. I have had no issues with them and they are awesome.
