Default 2006 GT with Brembo's needs front pads

2006 Grand Touring with factory Brembo's. Making a rubbing sound (not sqweak or grind). I would think this means its time to change pads...

Car has 29K and they have never been changed. how long should they last?

Front pads are $225 w/$60 labor!!! Can I replace these myself? Is there a tutorial?

Thanks

Replace them yourself, it's really easy. FYI, I bought front and rear StopTech Street pads for less than $100. Good luck!
