Default Alignment after Suspension Mod

I just installed Hotchkis AVS on my Z and have the sways setup at full firm front and medium left. I'm not sure if I want to keep it like this for the long run.

My question is that I know I need a full 4 wheel alignment now but if I change the sway settings later on, do I need another alignment or will I be ok?

No need to align after sway bar adjustments. Bar adjustments do not change geometry at all. A good place to start is full soft rear and one up from full soft in the front.

The AVS includes springs too, which lower the car and do change the geometry though. You should get an alignment after a few days of driving. I'm on my 2nd day since springs, alignment in a few more.

So I just went and got my alignment and the tech tells me that he can't get the specs into the green. He says I need new toe bolts in the back and adjustable a-arms up front. I thought that the Hotchkis AVS system did not require these? I think the specs were off <1 degree on each wheel. How bad is this for tire wear?

Get the camber arms and toe bolts for the rear. Front camber isn't really a concern, don't waste your money on arms. You will have a little more wear up front, not really a big deal, toe is the big concern, the factory toe adjustment is the most important to get in the green. I run around with -2.7 camber up front, that is -1.6 more than factory limits. I actually use camber arm to get more camber for track reason.

BTW you coming out to Panara Bread in Henderson tomorrow night?

Thanks man. I'm going to order the toe bolts and get it realigned. I got a 1 year alignment at tire works. I'm also going to get a printout this time to see how much I'm off in the front. I think it was pretty close. So, what's going on at Panera Bread? Meet?

*edit* so, you're saying I need the rear toe bolts and rear camber arms but not the front a-arms, right? I'm thinking of going with kinetix. any other brand you recommend? I was on 350zen but somehow my ip got banned.

*double edit* good, i'm back in at 350zen. Nice redesign!

Yup, G Z and S2k , location changes every wed night. 350zen.org for more info.Mostly 20's and 30's, a couple of teens and a few 40+ year old members, then SinCityZ club usually tags along too.

I'll be ordering the Eibach rear camber arms and toe bolts tomorrow. I will do the install and take them over to the shop I had look at my alignment. Got a 1 year deal so I should be good. Hoping I don't need the front arms, they are pricey but I got a pretty good deal on the Eibachs.

Also getting Kinetix front arms. I know they aren't necessary but I would like it to be right up front. Was gonna get Megan Racing front arms but they don't allow positive camber adjustment (only negative) whats up with that?

The big problem with the Z is it does not have enough front camber. Many/most aftermarket arms are for performance, if you want your car to turn, you add front camber.

Alright. I'll just post up my specs from the shop next time I go in and see what you guys think. I forgot to get them last time. Maybe I'll just get a snapshot of the screen.

I just ordered the Eibach rear camber arms and toe bolts after all. If I need the front arms later, I'll get them then but according to you guys, I won't need them.

Now I just need a dremel! Harbor Freight or Home Depot?
