for everyday driving - go to your local autozone, o'reilly, carquest and buy some life-time rotors and pads.

for high-performance driving - check the Autocross/Road forum, there's several threads there on suitable rotors/pads.

Don't want any dusts on my wheels that come off the pads. Which one Stoptech or Hawk pads?

Check out R1concepts for nice drilled and slotted rotors, also pads. I loved mine before I got a BBK.

Question

What do you mean "What is a good size?" How do you intend to put a larger rotor on the car?

You can find recommendations for low dust pads here.

Just got to autozone and ask them which ones have the least amount of dust. Drilled and slotted rotors are useless for you.

I too went with this setup some years back & this was a nice setup for the price point and my limited availability of track time.

Whole brake setup, for the no brembos (assuming this since you have a base)

I have the x-drilled and slotted with the Hawk HPS pads and there is near 0 dust, amazing braking...had to do a panic stop to avoid a dumb *** in a buick....45-0 seems instant. Only downside is they are a little noisy, but I can live with it

I'd rather have the dust with no noise. From my experience, then less dust, the more squeal. That, and the more aggressive racing pads squeal when they're cold...

I thought dust was a by-product of the friction material wearing when brakes are applied. Why is dust an issue anyhow, shouldn't stopping be the main concern?

Stopping power is inversely proportional to brake dust.

Go ceramic if you hate dust, but you're losing a bit of stopping power. Enough to be a deal breaker? You decide.

That being said I hate brake dust, but I've decided to go with the hawk HPS pads for a little extra. I do not know what's on the car now, they seem fine stopping wise, and extremely low dust, so my guess is ceramic.

I have to get used to looking at the calipers on the Z. I though my brakes were down to about 1/8th of an inch, so I unbolted one of the calipers to change them, and there's tons of pad left, about 1/2 inch.

I'll know what the Hawk HPS's are like in about 6 months I guess. lol..
