Default Looking for Coilovers (350Z Nismo)

Hello Nismo owners!

I do not own a 350Z Nismo, but a friend of mine does. He's apparently not on forums but is interested in dropping cash now
on some coilovers as I have just purchased a set myself.

I know some people will scream "Search button!" like they do on Genesis Coupe forums but I could find any vendor threads.
Either I'm not searching correctly or my PC is acting up again..

If anyone can give me some good insight on which brands are the most popular for the Z platform, which to avoid, etc. I'd
appreciate it a lot.

I took a quick shot of his car today when he came to visit, might as well post it. I photoshopped it to how low he'd want
his car eventually.

Also, his car is only daily driven.

Thanks in advance.

Nothing under $2k is going to improve the handling on his car. What are his goals?

Is that because of a certain weight. i remember there was a debate about this with a fellow nismo owner on this forum.

But then again it's a Nismo so.

To keep the handling the same as stock and lower the car will cost a pretty penny. Bilstien , K&W and a few other may do it.

How much do they run? I believe he doesn't want to spend more than $1200 for his coilovers.

anything at that price is going to be a HUGE step backwards over what the car came with stock

Increasing the handling capabilities of a NISMO is doable, but will not be cheap, as they are very capable in stock form. By the time it's said and done, he will be likely looking at an investment over $2k, possibly approaching $3k and above, if he wants it both lowered (coils), handling better (swaybars/endlinks), and in alignment spec (front adjustable a arms, rear camber/toe kit)

While $1200 is not a small amount of money, at that budget he will get a car that is lower - and that's it. It won't handle nearly as well as the car does stock, and the parts he puts on won't be as good as what the car came with stock

He bought the Nismo just for looks? He is wasting that chassis...

Thanks for the post fellas, I guess my friend will be investing a lot more than he expected but I don't think he'll mind.
