Default Anti-lock Brakes self-test....does it get quieter

When my '08 350Z was new, the self-check was pretty noticeable. I could always hear the motor running for several seconds just after the car started moving after each time the engine was started.

The car is a little over two years old with almost 7000 miles on it, and now I don't hear the self-test. I've tried lightly applying the brakes while moving slowly just after starting the engine, and I don't feel any pulsation in the pedal. The ABS warning light doesn't come on.

So, does the system get quieter and less noticeable after a few years and some mileage?

not really. you just get used to it and don't notice it as easily.
