Default do you really need the spring noise insulator?

i tried removing it from the oem spring and basically it was dried + brittle and just fell apart when i tried to remove it....then i completely forgot about it and just installed both springs without it. How important is this piece? Cause i really don't want to uninstall everything and put it back on

ya no problems, couldn't really notice the difference with them on or off except a difference in ride height by I think a half inch or so.
