Default fortune auto dreadnaught. drool

so i was cruisin the zilvia.net forums and came across a fortune auto coilover that was a step up from the 500. they call it the dreadnaught (F*** yeah! i need some too!). aparently its their streetable track setup and its less than double the price of the 500's, which is exactly what im looking for.
the problem is i cant seem to find this coil for a 350z. i found the dread series for evos wrxs, s13 14 & 15's but no Z!!! anyone know whats up with that? all i see in the coilover section of this forum is; 'whats a good coil for consistant street AND track use that WONT break the bank?' how does this dreadnaut look to you track enthusiasts?

Does anyone know how much these companies put into R&D and quality?
I've seen tons of random coilovers over the last few years, Megans, Stance, KSport, D2, Fortune Auto, HSD, Powered By Max (probably the best name yet, LOL) etc.. They are all 1-1.5k coilovers, more or less..

Any insights? Or is this all pretty much made on a design that everyone just copies w/o thinking?

I still feel safer picking any of the Tein coilovers and running those, then any of the above mentioned companies.

Dude is this going to be a "track" car or a "drift" car. You've said several things in your stellar posting career on this site. A drift set up and tracking set up are totally different.

A drift car can be a track car, but I think you're trying to illustrate the difference between a road racing suspension and drift suspension, correct? Either way, you want quality stuff. The manufacturing aspect of these coilovers is on par with all of the other budget-minded coilovers but I'd be questioning the R&D.

I'd like to add to my last post by saying that unless you're an experienced driver, then any coilover is going to feel good. If it makes you a more confident driver, doesn't fall apart, and is safe... Then buy whatever you want.

thanks for some of the helpful posts guys. i am going to buy a coil in the +/-$1500 range (lower endish) i think it will be a vast improvement on stock. I am currently way outdriving the stock setup (mostly on mulholland snake run look it up, i burn all four tires up and down every turn) so im looking for any kind of improvement. If i outdrive that setup i will get better stuff then.
The car is getting 275/295 on 18s for my track setup AND with a coilover kit i hope be able to go faster..

and whatsup with this floridan dude on my nutz all the time? does ANYONE like this guy?

275/295 eh?
what kinda tires? sidewall height height?
rims you are putting them on. Dont be surprised if you feel your car handles worst after putting them on, stock suspension is actually pretty decent.

Do you have any vids of that?

What I've learned is the predictable of a stock setup is very hard to master. That's what many are going to say, and it's true to and extent. You say your outdriving a stock setup! If we found a professional driver to follow/lead you on one of these "runs" you might change your tune! I switched over to coilovers mainly for height change seeing the Nismo at less drove great when being pushed!

If $1500 is your price range then you pretty much in the game for anything. I haven't seen much of these coilovers on z33. So I don't want to down play them.

Also coilovers aren't going to drastically change your ride feel or performance. Sway bars are the main suspension piece that changes performance that you feel in corners IMHO.

Either way I don't want to continue as I hope you've followed some of the other threads here on suspension!

And as it has been mention before you get what you pay for!

never had a camera. as soon as i can use a go pro camera i will, im gonna try and have my buddy ride along with his handheld but i highly doubt i will get decent non shaky footage.
and yeah ive read (basically) all the threads on suspension in the forums. I am just asking about this specific coil. to improve handling i will also be getting sway bars as you mentioned and whiteline bushings (until i feel like i NEED SPL).

tho i think sway bars make the car feel like its handling better but the same amount of g force is pulling the car at the tires in a turn. i am getting mad rear axle hop and bump steer. if the car is grabbing at high speed thru a turn and hits any slight bumpiness and the back end gets a lil loose and wants to hang out the rest of the turn, i have to do a low angle drift out of every turn even downhill.
