Default Need help disabling traction control

Hello, I appreciate any help I can get on this issue...I have to drive 8 hours tomorrow.

I just had a new set of tires installed, which are extremely incompatible with the traction control. This was an emergency situation, so these tires had to be put on. The TC is not letting me drive, even normal. It just constantly reads that it's slipping. I have to find a way to turn this **** off so that I can drive home tomorrow. Thanks.

I searched for "disable traction control" and came up with these:

Are you certain this is a TCS problem? Or is this a VDC problem? Need tire size.

Tire sizes would be nice to know. OP: Post your front and rear tire sizes as well as how worn the fronts and/or rears are.

255/45 Front
265/35 Rear

As I said, this wasn't the ideal tire placement, but I needed something on my car with some tread so I can get home tomorrow. Also, the 255/45 was supposed to be rear, but the 265/35 scrubbed in the front, so I had to rotate them.

EDIT: both sets of tires have plenty of tread left.

I'm not sure of the difference. When I go above 20mph, the "slip" light comes on and disables my car. I can press the disable VDC button, and the problem stops, but I've had issues with my car before, where the VDC light and the Slip light stay on, and that button doesn't disable VDC. It only seems to do that when it's cold.

The VDC/TCS off button is designed to do exactly what you're looking for - an emergency situation where you don't need them to come.

It looks like your front tire is larger in diameter than your back tire. That will create your problem. You need to get closer to the stock size tires on both the front and back.

I ran the numbers for

Front 265/35
Rear 255/45

Do not think VDC will like this either.

Thanks for the help everyone, the VDC off button did its job (thankfully!) and I got home on time. Now, to find the right tire size for those fronts haha.

Glad that worked for you. Problem is you are starting with some jacked up tire sizes.

265/35 18 Rear: Actual speed 100.0 MPH. Speedometer will read 105.45 MPH.

Good luck with this.
