Default Tanabe PRO S-OC

Does this setup look correct? The helper spring on the bottom and very tight? I don't see the point of a helper spring if its that wound up.....

The rear suspension is very close to each other. The cars will use the same spring with the same results

Yea, I can post some pics, and my wheels specs are: 19x9.5/10.5 +12 on 40 profile tires. I'm just confused how these springs that claim to have a 2.25 inch drop from tanabe show a higher stance than all their other springs/coils. I have contacted tanabe, but still wating for a reply

Considering your aspect ratio is a % of the width, saying you have 40 profile tires is pointless unless you mention the width.

You can pull the upper lock ring, it is over 1/4 inch wide , a 1/4 inch movement at the spring will give you almost 1/2 inch at the tire.

Also remember that Tanabe is probably actually clueless about the car, they probably only touched one for a second of R&D. Acually they probably copied someone else then , borrowed a car to make sure theirs fit. I bet they don't even know what the motion ratio is.

sorry, front tire specs are 225/40/19, 245/40/19. Yes i know i can take the locks out, but I am curious as to why the drop is so minimal, even with these lower springs. Is it possible to just swap out the springs in the rear and leave the struts for proven springs? Such as eibachs that actually lower the car?

See what Tanabe can do for you first. If they can't get you low enough i would contact BC Racing for a set of their real extra low coils. The are tapered and will work with the hardware you already have.

The BC's will be 2.5 inch ID , you will have to measure to make sure.

Still no word from tanabe, and my vendor isn't replying either. Do you know if the bc springs will work with the tanabe setup? The bc's come with its own top hat and the bottom perch, the tanabes use the stock rubber ones.

Does anyone know what other springs I can get to lower the rear? The current springs are linear, and use the stock rubber thing on the bottom of the spring. Any help appreciated, I just got these coils and don't want to sell them or swap them out. I feel stupid for going with these coils and not being happy. Please help me, thanks lol

Pull the adjusters completely out and see if that is low enough for you, cut the upper mounts if you have too, otherwise pretty much any spring with that I.D. will work as long as you order the right length. Jegs, summit, springs are everywhere.

It doesnt use the upper mount, the only thing I can do to lower the current setup is to take out the rear ring like you mentioned. But I am paying to get this done, so I don't want to keep driving there and paying the guy, and not like the height again. The current spring diameter is 65mm, so that means I can only use a spring that is 65mm as well? Or can it be 62mm like bc springs?

And what do you mean by right length, as long as its shorter wouldnt it lower the car?

BTW, that is a progressive spring if you look at the pic. And NO, you can not use just any spring, you have to get a tapered spring.
