lowering springs, dumb question.
i had tein s tech's installed on my Z last week they are suppose to drop my car .7 in the front and .6 in the rear.
when i got the car there was a huge difference in the fender gap, it looks nice and closed but my car seems the same height from the floor to my bumper.
its been a week and i know they still need to settle in.
so i am wondering, when they settle in more will my fender gap close more or will my car just drop lower to the floor?
my car is still the same height the fender gap is just closed.

If the springs settle and the fender gap closes, don't you think the bumper should drop lower to the floor as well? Its not like the springs will drop only the fender parts and leave the rest of the car at the same height
I have the Tein S-Tech and they do not drop all that much. It should be noticeable, but nowhere as much as other springs. I've had mine in the Z for about 7k miles now, and it's maybe settles a little bit more.
really? how much did the springs finally drop your car?
did you need a camber kit? my camber is more negative then i figured it would be.
its suppose to be like .7 of an inch
not a whole lot but it should be at least a little bit more noticeable

You know the fender gap gets smaller as the vehicle is lowered. Right?
The fender gap cant be smaller with the same ride height, unless you either changed tires, rolled fenders, or measuring on a different surface.

I just put S-Techs on my car a few weeks ago to close up some fender gap but with my OEM springs having 150,000km it really gave the car a great feel back. I am more impressed with the new handling characteristics than with the lower look.
Oh yea, I'm on stock camber/toe components as well. After dropping, and getting alignment, my rears are within factory spec. Fronts however were at -1.6 and -1.8 camber. Factory spec was like -1.4 max. What do most ppl here consider acceptable camber settings? I have a friend that ran -4 deg for years and he says it's still alright.
Stock Shocks. Got 19k miles on my Z right now, springs were installed fall last year (2011) when car had about 14k miles. Don't think the factory shocks would be giving out any time soon, at least judging by the amt the S-Techs drop anyways. I'm guessing if the shocks go out, the car will look much lower?
