Default Megan Coilovers & Cut Spring Mounts?

I'll be picking up a set of Megan racing street coilovers tonight or tomorrow. right now im lowered on Tanabe springs and my spring mounts are cut. Will I need to replace the spring mounts before installing the coilovers? Or will it not matter?

I don't think you use the spring mounts; they are replaced with the silver/black adjustable perch:

Oh ok. Simple enough, thanks! I just remember hearing someone say a while back that because of the cut sprint mounts that they will sit uneven or something.

Keep your springs and just buy a set of nice shocks.

I'm getting the coilovers from a local guy on for $300 + a stock exhaust... I'm gonna see how they do.

Depends on the brand. Some coilovers re-use the OEM spring mount, others don't. Megan does not.

^ Thanks. My wheel/tire setup is

18x9 +15 (255/35)
18x10.5 +20 (285/35)

I plan to just eliminate all fender gap.. Think I will need to get a camber/toe kit? I do plan to in the near future but im basically asking if it will kill me to ride around for a month or so without a camber/toe kit. I won't NEED anything for the fronts will I?

Just talked to Megan Racing and he said that the street series do require using the oem spring mounts. But the track series do not. Guess I've gotta find a set of spring mounts..

Your spring mount is cut and your installing an adjustable setup, the shaved would will still work fine, and guess what , you will be able to adjust them 1/2 inch lower than anyone else could with a Megan Coilover. YOu may need that for slamming you car as it seems your trying to do.

Id go ahead and get camber/toe kit done then get it all aligned. Hear they can get pretty close to spec w/ but you may end up going lower than you think (I did).

yeah i just won't have the funds to use for the camber/toe kit for about another 2 or 3 weeks. probably going to go with the kinetix kit.

what would be best for my setup? just a rear camber/toe kit? should i get like toe links, traction rods, front camber arms, etc..? is any of that necessary for my setup or is that mainly for the crazy neg camber guys.

How low are u going to go ? Any kind of lowering will effect alignment and eat up some tread etc.
I just did the BCs: cusco front arms,Kinetix rear camber arms, & spc toe bolts-alignment. She made it fine after about 14-15 hrs hwy right after. No problems or camber/toe wear---Finished for me.(for now).
Traction rods won't be bad if u want to go ahead w those but that's up to u. Z1 has that kit available I believe. Kinetix fronts, rears, and traction.

Idk how many miles/wear u have. But u may wana chk or go ahead and replace your Lca inner bushings and I did strut mount bushings also while I had it all off also. Made it easier. Now I need a compression arm. Always something.

YOu will need rear camber arms and toe bolts, traction arms are not needed and most alignment techs will have no clue on how to properly adjust with them. The front, you will probably be looking at -2 camber without camber correctable arms, up to you. Bushings, compression arm bushing will fail quickly after its lowered and the LCA bushing will too. I would swap them both at at the time of coilover install so you only have to align once.

just ordered the kinetix rear camber arms and spc toe bolt kit. and thinking about going ahead and ordering the lca and compression rod bushings.. how hard are these to install if i were to do it myself? i plan to install all of this on the same day with the help of one friend, then get it aligned right after.

thanks for all the help guys. will post some pics when everything is on. probably be a little while though.
